Our bookstore is centered around Kentucky authors, Kentucky stories, and books connected to our state. Because we are a small independent bookstore with limited shelf space, we carefully select every title we carry.
For adult books, we are primarily looking for Kentucky authors or books that are set in Kentucky or have a strong Kentucky connection.
What We Look For
For adult fiction, we currently consider:

- Southern Fiction
- Historical Fiction
- Mystery & Suspense
- Fantasy & Science Fiction
For adult nonfiction, we currently focus on:
- Kentucky History and Regional History
- Travel
- Bourbon
- Horses
- Cookbooks
- Memoirs
Due to limited shelf space, we do not currently carry self-help or spirituality books.
Children’s Books
Our children’s collection is a little broader. We especially love books by Kentucky authors and books connected to Kentucky, but we will also consider children’s books from authors outside Kentucky when the book is a strong fit for the themes we currently carry.

We look for books that are professionally written, edited, illustrated when applicable, and produced to retail bookstore standards.
Wholesale Requirements
Whenever possible, we prefer to order books through Ingram.
To be considered for purchase, books must be available at a minimum 40% wholesale discount with free shipping. These are the minimum terms we currently receive through Ingram. Many of the publishers we work with provide 50% wholesale discounts with free shipping.
If your book is not available through Ingram, we may consider purchasing directly from the author or publisher when comparable wholesale terms are available.
Submitting a book does not guarantee that we will purchase or carry it.
How the Submission Process Works
- Complete the Book Submission Form below with information about you and your book.
- We review submissions periodically and carefully consider whether each title fits our store, customers, available shelf space, and current inventory.
- If we believe your book is a good fit, we will contact you.
- Because of the number of submissions we receive, we are unable to respond individually to books we decide not to carry. If you do not hear from us, it simply means we are unable to add the book to our inventory at this time.
Please understand that declining a title is not necessarily a reflection of the quality of the book. Our small size requires us to be selective about what we place on our shelves.
Author events and book signings are considered separately from book submissions. Acceptance of a book for sale does not guarantee an author signing or event.
