I am REALLY excited about this one…

We’re welcoming Kentucky author Jan Lawson Schiffer to The Kentucky Bookstore for a special book signing on Saturday, June 6 from 11–2!

Her book, Finding the Rest of Me, is one of those deeply personal stories that stays with you long after you finish it. It’s a heartfelt memoir about adoption, identity, family, and the emotional journey of discovering where you came from and how those missing pieces shape your life.

What makes this story so fascinating is that it also dives into the history of the Friends Rescue Home… a home for unwed mothers that many people have never even heard about. There’s a lot of history, emotion, and hope woven through these pages.

Jan now lives in Kentucky and has been getting wonderful attention for this book, including features by Kentucky writer Steve Flairty and FRANK Magazine. Readers have connected with her honesty, faith, and the way she tells such a personal story with so much heart.

And honestly… meeting the authors is one of my FAVORITE parts of having this bookstore. You get to hear the stories behind the stories.
